Good Thursday & LOVE

November 21 Celebrations.......

World Hello Day

The objective of World Hello Day is to promote world peace. The theme of this day is "Greet ten people for peace". It is really easy to participate in World Hello Day. Simply, say hello to the people today. And, voice your concern for world peace.

World Hello Day was created during the 1973 conflict between Egypt and Israel. The creators of this day, Brian McCormack and Michael McCormack, believe your efforts can help to promote global peace. They believe it starts with communications, hence the greeting to ten people.

So, let's all make a difference. Get out on the streets today, and say "Hello" to at least ten people.

It's also False Confession Day

False Confession Day is today. I bet you have been waiting for today, in eager anticipation. For some unknown, yet wacky reason, the creator of this day, thought it would be fun to encourage false confessions.

Did you do it or not? If you did, mum's the word today. But, if you didn't do it, then today is your day to offer up a false confession.

Great American Smokeout Day

When : Third Thursday of the month

Great American Smokeout Day is today. Let's finally kick the habit.

The goal of this special day is quite obvious: to get people to quit smoking, resulting in fewer health problems, and less cancer and emphysema deaths resulting from smoking and secondary smoke.

Quitting smoking is not an easy task. As an ex-smoker, this writer knows how hard it is to quit smoking. Often(usually), it takes repeated efforts. That's okay, as long as you keep trying until you finally succeed. The health benefits, and the prospect of a longer life are crystal clear.

The American Cancer Society encourages all smokers to give up the "butt" today. Join millions of other Americans today and take a big step to a happier, healthier, longer life.

Thanksgiving 8000 Calorie Poem

May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.
~Meister Eckhart
Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude.
~E.P. Powell
So once in every year we throng
Upon a day apart,
To praise the Lord with feast and song
In thankfulness of heart.
~Arthur Guiterman, The First Thanksgiving
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
~John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Remember God's bounty in the year. String the pearls of His favor. Hide the dark parts, except so far as they are breaking out in light! Give this one day to thanks, to joy, to gratitude!
~Henry Ward Beecher
Forever on Thanksgiving Day The heart will find the pathway home.
- Wilbur D. Nesbit
Giving thanks to God for both His temporal and spiritual blessings in our lives is not just a nice thing to do - it is the moral will of God. Failure to give Him the thanks due Him is sin.
- Jerry Bridges, Respectable Sins
"Life without thankfulness is devoid of love and passion. Hope without thankfulness is lacking in fine perception. Faith without thankfulness lacks strength and fortitude. Every virtue divorced from thankfulness is maimed and limps along the spiritual road.
- John Henry Jowett
